What counts as general knowledge?
The facts most adults are expected to recognise without looking them up: capitals and countries, major historical events, basic physics and biology, well-known foods and their origins, and music and art terms you meet in everyday conversation. If a fact only makes sense inside one specialty, it is not in these quizzes.
Are these general knowledge questions hard?
They are mixed on purpose. The warm-up sits near the easy end, the speed round at the hard end, and the topic tests in between. Everyone lands somewhere different, which is the point: the score tells you which topics you are strong in rather than whether you are clever.
Can I use these as a pub quiz or in a classroom?
Yes. No account is needed to play, there is no time pressure except where the timer is part of the test, and each quiz ends with a shareable result you can put on a screen. Questions are written for QuizLemon rather than copied from question banks.
How is the score worked out?
One point per correct answer, no penalty for a wrong guess. Your percentage is then matched to one of four levels, which are written as plain descriptions rather than grades.
